Lauryn Hill, Nas, Cypress Hill and More To Headline Rock The Bells 2011

Artists including GZA, Souls of Mischief, Mos Def & Talib Kweli, Raekwon & Ghostface and more will perform their classic albums in their entirety.
The star-studded lineup has been announced for the Rock the Bells 2011 Festival Series. Presnted by Boost Mobile in association with Guerilla Union, the BlackBerry-powered event will feature Ms. Lauryn Hill, Nas, Cypress Hill, Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah and more.
Similar to last year, headlining acts will perform their classic albums in their entirety. Ms. Lauryn Hill will perform The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, while Cypress Hill will take on Black Sunday, Black Star will perform Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star, Raekwon & Ghostface will team up for Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Mobb Deep will tackle The Infamous, The GZA will revisit Liquid Swords, Souls of Mischief will recap 93 ‘Til Infinity and Masta Killa will cover No Said Date.
Additionally, Nas will perform his classic 1994 debut Illmatic alongside AZ, DJ Premier and Pete Rock. “For years people have been asking me to do Illmatic in so many ways, from stage plays to movies to books, but the time wasn’t right. Where music is going now, the time is right,” said Nas in a statement. “This will be my biggest production and it only makes sense to do it on the best rap tour which also happens to be a brand I’ve built and am a partner in. Can’t wait to kill it with my comrades AZ, Premo & Pete Rock!”
The 8th annual RTB festival will also feature the Paid Dues Stage, curated by Murs. “I am excited that I once again have the privilege of hosting the Paid Dues Stage,” he said. “We will have the honor of showcasing some of the best talent in independent hip hop as part of the worlds largest and longest running hip hop festival… the Paid Dues stage is gonna be the one to watch this year.”
A new addition to the event is the 36 Chambers Stage, which will feature members of the Wu-Tang Clan and RZA-approved artists. The Grindtime Now Stage will also make its debut, hosting battle-style performances.
Rock the Bells 2011, hosted by The RZA, Murs 3:16 and Supernatural, will take over four different cities. Check below to see tour dates and the full list of artists.

Many music artists at some point in their career attempt a career in the Hollyweird.
Some people like Alicia Keys or Common make a great transition, while others not so much.
Bow Wow recently shared his thoughts …
I hate when I’m watching rappers in movies, because it pisses me off when I see them still being the rapper
I try to stay away from that. Anything that’s a challenge is something that I up for.
Nobody knows this, but the craziest thing that I did not do was ‘Big Mama’s House 3.’
They wanted me to be the role that Brandon T. Jackson played, but I passed because I was scared of that sh*t.
I feel like I’m ready to take my career to the next level, but it’s all about making the right decisions
and I feel like I made the right decision by not making that particular film.
It’s kind of like, if a role is not fit for you and you’ll know if it’s not because you’ll just have that feeling once you read it,
and that’s how I felt…
“Big mama’s house 3″ was the best thing you were offered?
#sitdown bowwow, leave the acting to the professionals.

Kanye just released a preview of his new video called “monster”,
Kanye, Officer Ricky, Jay-z and Nicki Minaj all make an appearance along
with countless dead women, and raw body parts.
I even saw a skull with horns, there is a lot of symbolism in this video.
Either Kanye really sold his soul, or he’s just trying to play on the illuminati conspiracy theories.
Either way the video looks demonic as hell, way to go Kanye you’ve just been put back on my attention whore list.

Lady Gaga’s Meat Dress

When I first saw Lady Gaga, in her infamous meat dress my first thought was
“where the hell is PETA’s crying ass?”
This is the 2nd time lady Gaga has come underfire for rocking meat chunks,
she wore a meat bikini on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan magazine.
she really pushed the envelope with her latest meat obsession.
. 
Ellen DeGeneres, who is a vegan, asked Gaga about the dress for an interview airing today.
this is was Gaga said:
“Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth,” said Gaga. “However, it has many interpretations but for me this evening. If we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”
Ellen then presented her with a veggie bikini and suggested she try that next time she wants to make a statement.

I along with many other people watched the VMA’s last night, I tweeted back and forth with my followers
most of us thought the show was garbage, I had more fun reading my timeline on twitter lol.
I wasn’t feeling how they kept trying to play Kanye, Chelsea clowned the hell out of him all night long,
but I don’t feel bad for him, because he shouldn’t have kept apologizing to Taylor on twitter.
The mess with Taylor Swift is over a year old, they both need to get over it.
Beside being pretty Taylor Swift, is nothing to write home about
her performance was the most boring thing I’ve ever seen,
if your gonna clown someone for dissing you,then you better make sure you bring it…
the song that Kanye performed was pretty funny.
Lady ATTENTIONWHORE was rocking a pair of snake skin Goat feet shoes,
i’m sure the Baphomet couldn’t have been prouder…
please don’t get me started on that meat dress.
Lady Gaga won the most awards, i believe she took home 8 moonmen.
Eminem and Rhianna rocked the opening act,
Drake, Swizz and Mary performed a formal version of “Fancy,” T.I. was no where to be seen.

Nicki Minaj defends her lyrics at the Teen Choice Awards

Young Money Princess Nicki Minaj appeared at the Teen Choice Awards to discussed her upcoming album Pink Friday, the interviewer asked her why some of her lyrics should be considered “teen friendly”. she seemed to kind of take offence lmao.
In the interview on the show’s red carpet, Nicki states that although all of her songs may not be for the kids, she does have a few that teens can listen to.
“I have a few songs that are teen friendly,” Nicki said. “’Your Love’ has very appropriate and teen friendly lyrics, somethings don’t and somethings do.”
In addition to discussing her lyrical content, Nicki touched on her upcoming album…
“I am very excited about my upcoming single,” Nicki continued. “The album’s coming put on November 23 so I am super-duper excited.”

Snoop wins-Do Something For The Kids award

Snoop Dogg has been awarded this year’s “Do Something For The Kids” award for his extensive work with a charity football league called the Snoop Youth Football League. DoSomething.org is and VH1 teamed up together to award celebrities who have been dedicated to positive social change.
On top of having a succesful career in the rap industry, Snoop seems to have turned a new leaf and is really focusing on being a positive role model for youngsters. His football league provides free clinics for 8-14 year old boys from the Chicago Housing Authority.

BET AWARDS 2010 wrap up

The BET Awards were Hosted by Queen Latifah, there were many performances that stood out…including a pregnant Alicia Keys, Eminem backed by a choir on “Not Afraid,” Monica(not sure what she had on) was joined by R&B legend Deniece Williams, T.I. in his first television appearance since released from prison.
Kanye West, opened the awards show with a song called “Power,” we haven’t seen Ye since the interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech during the VMAs bwahaha…
Closing out the show was Ludacris, who was joined by DJ Khaled, who actually rapped and said more then
“we the best” T-Pain and officer Rick Ross were on stage as well.
we all found out that Kirk Franklin, couldn’t sing… John Legend won a humanitarian award, but no one noticed
becuase his hair line was JACKED UP… lol his hairline also made the top trending topics on twitter, smh only on twitter.
Music icon Prince was presented with this year’s lifetime achievement award. To the disappointment of many fans,
Prince did not perform, but Prince was paid tribute musically by Janelle Monae, bassist/singer Esperanza Spalding,
Alicia Keys and Patti LaBelle.
During the performance of ‘Purple Rain’ Patti LaBelle proceeds to kick off her heels smh,
thank God the purple one didn’t get busted upside his head by her high heel shoe….
he caught it, and waved it in the air like it was a baseball from a MN Twins game lol.

Diddy was drunk as hell during the Bet after party show…
Diddy proceeded to throw disses at what people suspect are 50cent and lil kim this is what Diddy’s drunk a$$ said:
“I love my people, eh yo let’s stop the hate man, Congratulate, Hate is for suckers and if you hating,
you’re a sucker and you’re ashy and your breath stinks. And you know who I’m talking to you hatin’ a$$ crab.”
Diddy didn’t name anyone in particular, but the word floating around the Internet is that Diddy is referring to 50 Cent and Lil Kim,
both of whom have called Diddy out on his B.S. over the past few weeks.
50 Cent recently said:
“His music sucks, It’s bad. He’s not an artist anyway, so it doesn’t really matter.
When you think about it, is he a rapper? Because he says he doesn’t write rhymes, he writes checks”
While Lil Kim says: that Diddy should be ashamed of himself for co-signing with Nicki minja’s career,
and saying that Nicki is he new Lil Kim…
IMO Diddy is an attention whore who sold his soul a long ago,
he will use anyone to keep himself relevant…
no one is hating on him… his music is wack to me, and he needs to stick to producing.
