Marines Urinating on Dead Taliban Bodies in Viral Video identified

The United States Marines Corps say they have identified and interviewed the four men who were seen urinating on corpses in Afghanistan in a viral video that was posted online this week.
The video, which first surfaced online Wednesday morning, and is described as a “recruitment tool for the Taliban,” shows four men in full combat uniform laughing and joking around as they relieve themselves on three dead bodies.
One of the men can be heard saying, “Have a great day, buddy!” as his colleagues laugh, and another jokes, “Golden like a shower.”
According to various published reports, the four men were members of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines out of Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, where they reportedly showed the video off as some sort of “war trophy.”
So far, the names of the men have not been released, but an unidentified official says that some of the men are no longer members of the military.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta called the video “utterly deplorable” and ordered a high-level probe into the incident, which has been condemned by other White House officials and politicians, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Senator John McCain and Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, who called the soldiers’ actions “inhumane.”
“Those found to have engaged in such conduct will be held accountable to the fullest extent,” said the Secretary of Defense, who advised the commander of western troops in Afghanistan to launch their own investigation.
Hillary Clinton expressed “total dismay” at the video, calling it “deplorable behavior” and “absolutely inconsistent with the standards of behavior that the vast majority of Marines hold themselves to.”
“Anyone, anyone found to have participated or know about it, having engaged in such conduct, must be held fully accountable,” she said.
Though the nature of the charges brought against the men are unclear, desecrating bodies is a crime under U.S. military law and the Geneva conventions.
In response to the growing diplomatic storm surrounding the situation, the deputy commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, Lt. General Curtis Scaparrotti, said in a message to troops Friday that defiling, desecrating, mocking, photographing or filming for personal use insurgent dead constitutes a grave breach” of the laws that are currently governing armed conflict.
But not everyone is so strongly against the video. A prominent anti-Muslim activist in New York, Pamela Geller, who famously opposed the construction of an Islamic center near ground zero, praised the soldiers for desecrating the the corpses of Afghans who she described as “murderous savages.”
“I love these marines. Perhaps this is the infidel interpretation of the Islamic ritual of washing and preparing the body for burial,” she wrote on her blog.
Florida Rep. Allen West, an ex-Army lieutenant colonel, slammed non-military people who are criticizing the four marines seen in the video, saying, “…unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”
CNN contributor Dana Loesche, who also supports the troops and their crude actions, said in an interview with FM News Talk 97.1 in St. Louis, Missouri, “C’mon people, this is war. Do I have a problem with that as a citizen of the United States? No, I don’t.”
Meanwhile, Eugenia Weiss, a military psychiatrist based out of California, suggested the soldiers may have been “stressed” or “pranksters with extremely bad taste.”
Eugene Fidell, who teaches a military course at Yale University, said that the Marines could be sent to prison if a jury of military officers deem it to be an appropriate punishment.
War makes people do sick ass things, when you turn young men and women in to legal killers, these are some of the things that happen.

Cops investigate the fatal stabbing at the Greenville, S.C., Walmart
Holiday shoppers at a South Carolina Walmart watched in horror as a man stabbed his wife to death in the store during a heated argument, authorities said.
The big box retailer remained opened for business after the grisly slaying, police and witnesses said.
Avery Blandin, 46, of Simpsonville, is facing murder charges for brutally stabbing his wife, Lila Blandin, 38, as she was worked at a bank located inside the Greenville store on Saturday, cops told local station WYFF.
Phillip Tallent was shopping for Christmas lights with his family when he heard the chilling screams.
“When I looked, I could see a couple of stabbing motions, and I started to run towards the front,” Tallent told the station. “When I got up there … (the man) was making a stomping motion at (the woman) across her chest and neck area.”
Blandin fled the scene, but cops caught up with him after he wrecked his truck during the getaway attempt, police said.
Lila Blandin died later at a local hospital, authorities said.
Holiday bargain hunters said they were sickened that the store didn’t close after the gruesome attack.
“I saw there was blood everywhere, on the ground, on the table, on the wall,” shopper Brittany King told WYFF. “It’s disrespectful to the family that it happened to. Especially the people and the employees who saw it happen.”

Greenville County deputies said it was the store’s decision to stay open after police arrived and roped off the gore-splattered crime scene.
“We did, as requested, close our grocery checkout area to allow the police to do their work and provide some level of privacy, given the circumstances,” Walmart spokeswoman Dianna Gee told WYFF.
Blandin was being held in the Greenville County Detention Center.

Amber Cole is one of the most famous, non-famous people right now after a video of her performing oral sex on a boy around her age (who is supposedly her ex boyfriend) behind a school was passed around on the Internet earlier this week, prompting numerous parodies, trending topics on Twitter and more.
Over the past week, Amber has been ridiculed for her actions on Twitter, Facebook and on blogs all over the web.
But there are groups of people who have been rallying for her, and have started numerous Facebook pages dedicated to her. And those people would be happy to know that the two young men responsible for this whole situation have been arrested and are in police custody, according to recent reports and Cole’s Twitter page….
For those of you who don’t know (where on earth have you been?!?) Amber Cole is a 14-year-old girl who instantly became an Internet celebrity this week following the posting and sharing of a video that showed her “servicing” a male friend.
While the video hasn’t been seen by too many people (it was taken down and no one has the courage to upload it again since it’s considered child porn), the ones who did see it posted screenshots to the web, which basically kept the “passing” game going.
Thankfully the culprits behind the fiasco have since been apprehended, but that won’t change the fact that thousands and thousands of people saw a 14-year-old girl giving a boy head.
You can’t undo what’s been done, and no amount of punishment will make those sick little boys feel like how Amber Cole feels right now.
Not that we’re excusing what she did (she wasn’t forced, she did it on her own free will) but things like that, especially between children under-age, should be kept private. It’s one thing to gossip about it with just your words (the old fashioned way), but to literally upload the video and watch it go viral? Wow…
On October 18, Cole tweeted that she was pressing charges. “[I] can’t wait to press charges tomorrow,” she said.
The next day, she updated her followers and told them that one male had been arrested. “[He] was just arrested earlier and is having charges being pressed against him and has a court date soon!”
In the hours that followed, Cole continued to reference the two boys repeatedly, saying, “[they] are the worst people God has created. Someone needs to stop them now, before it’s another victim like me.”
As of press time, it hasn’t been confirmed whether or not the boys involved were actually arrested, but given how big this story has gotten over the past week, we should have some confirmation soon.
I think that uploading that video was a horrible thing to do on those boys part, and they need to be repremanded, but…i dont feel its fair to make this little girl amber feel like a victim… She knew exactly what she was doing, and if she wanted privacy well then she should have not made it public business. not to mention she looked at the camera several times smh. by the looks of it, if you saw the video, It wasn’t her first time “servicing” anyone. I get that she’s a child but come on, what kind of message are we sending to other teenagers, this type of public behavior is NOT ok.
She definitely needs to be monitored and spoken to, her public actions are not normal for a 14yr old smh.

Muammar Gaddafi has been killed as his home town of Sirte was overrun by fighters seeking to complete the eight-month uprising inLibya, the interim prime minister has announced.The former dictator reportedly died from wounds in his head and legs. It was unclear whether he was hit in a Nato air strike on a convoy fleeing Sirte, a firefight on the ground, or in concrete tunnels in the town itself.
The Libyan prime minister, Mahmoud Jibril, told a news conference in Tripoli: “We have been waiting for this moment for a long time.Muammar Gaddafi has been killed.”
A US official said Libyan leaders had confirmed his death to Washington, the AP agency reported at 3.15pm UK time.
Earlier, pictures showing what was said to be the body of the dead and bleeding Gaddafi appeared on television as Nato and US officials tried to confirm his death. Some showed it being dragged through the streets of Sirte.
Gaddafi’s son Muatassim was also reported to have been killed or captured in Sirte, the stronghold of pro-Gadaffi forces. Another son, Saif al-Islam, was said to have escaped.
Gaddafi’s corpse was reportedly transferred to Misrata. First reports of Gaddafi’s capture came soon after noon UK time and within an hour there were claims he was dead.
The convoy in which is Gaddafi might have been travelling was hit by a Nato airstrike at 6am British time. Two Nato aircraft bombed the vehicles as they fled Sirte. Neither were British planes, though two Tornado ground attack aircraft were on surveillance and reconnaissance missions at the time.
A National Transitional Council (NTC) official, Abdel Majid Mlegta, told Reuters. “There was a lot of firing against his group and he died.”
The NTC spokesman in Misrata, Abdullah Berrassali, told Sky News: “Gaddafi is dead, absolutely dead. He was shot in both legs and a bullet in the head. The body will be arriving in Misrata any minute now.”
Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, said if the reports were true she would breathe a sigh of relief as one more obstacle was removed.
Gaddafi was wanted by the international criminal court on charges of ordering the killing of civilians.
He was at one time believed to be hiding deep in the Sahara desert. His wife, two sons and a daughter fled to neighbouring Algeria shortly after Tripoli fell to rebel forces in August. Only on Wednesday, a day before his death, Gaddafi was said by Jibril to have been recruiting fighters from other countries in an effort to destabilise the regime that replaced him.

Whitney eventually allowed one of the crew members to grab the buckle and fasten it for the singer — and the plane was then cleared for takeoff.

It’s been said that age is just a number. But, when it comes to modeling, it seems the younger, the better.
When you flip through the pages of any fashion magazine, you’ll see 14- and 15-year-old models striking a pose.
But the question is, how young is too young?
In the modeling world, Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau is being called the next big thing. But little Thylane is only 10 years old.
The French Vogue magazine featured the very young model posing seductively.
While little girls like to play dress up, these photos show the 10-year-old provocatively staring at the camera, with her hip out and lips puckered.
This has the Internet buzzing and critics such as child therapist Dr. Jenn Berman say this kind of thing isn’t sexy — it’s disturbing.
“Inappropriate. Wildly appropriate. Child pornography. (It’s) just way out there, “said Berman.
Parents seem to agree. They say the outfit, the makeup, the photos are too much.
Some supporters say it’s no big deal in Europe and that’s why it’s in a French Vogue magazine.
In Hollywood, this sort of thing is not new. There were young models like Brooke Shields in the ’80s and recent stars like 14-year-old Haylee Steinfeld and 13-year-old Elle Fanning.
“This is really an entrée to pornography,” said Berman.
With much recent media controversy over 10-year-old, Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau’s rather suggestive Vogue Paris photos, Thylane’s mother, Véronika Loubry, has finally decided to speak up about the over-sexualized photos that show Blondeau with a sultry look, posing in skintight dresses, lying on a tiger skin rug sporting leopard stilettos, wearing bright red lipstick, and in one picture she’s even topless. Looks you would expect from models twice her age, but a ten year old?! But is this a case of too little too late??
Seeing as the risque photos seem to have made it to every corner of the internet, Loubry’s attempt to step in may have little to no impact on the larger debate surrounding these pictures.
Earlier today, the 10-year-old’s mother released a brief statement on Tylane’s Facebook page before it was deleted soon after. In the post Loubry stated,

All right, we get that you want to protect your daughter from the backlash these photos have caused, but shouldn’t you have thought about that before you signed on for the shoot?? Models seem to be getting younger and younger and made to look older and older…

Black High Schooler Denied “Sole” Valedictorian because she’s a black teen mom

A black student who was named valedictorian of her class is suing her high school after school officials insisted that she share the honor with a white student who had a lower GPA.
“When I found out I was valedictorian, I was ecstatic,” Kymberly Wimberly, 18, told ABC News.
She had worked hard to stay at the top of her class at McGehee High School in southeast Arkansas. After giving birth to a daughter during her junior year, she took only three weeks off from school, returning in time to ace her finals. She earned just one B during her four years at McGehee, and made up for it by filling her schedule with honors and AP courses which, according to the state-mandated scoring system, carry more weight in GPA calculations.
“I’m not going to say it wasn’t difficult,” she said. “My teachers thought I’d fall flat on my face, but I kept trying to succeed.”
Her hard work paid off: On May 10, the school’s counselor told Wimberly’s mother, Molly Bratton, who works as the McGehee school district’s media specialist, that Wimberly had the highest GPA in the class of 2011. The school superintendent, Thomas Gathen, confirmed that she had been named valedictorian.
But a few hours later, Bratton overheard an employee saying that having Wimberly as valedictorian might cause a “big mess.” And the next day the school’s principal, Darrell Thompson, said “that he decided to name a white student as co-valedictorian,” even though the other student’s GPA was lower than Wimberly’s,according to the lawsuit filed in federal court July 21.
“Defendants did not support African-American students, and did not want to see Wimberly, an African-American young mother, as valedictorian,” the lawsuit alleges. In addition to $75,000 in punitive damages, Wimberly, who will be attending the University of Arkansas this fall, is asking that the school recognizes her as the only valedictorian of her class. No legal response has been filed by lawyers for the school district.
“I told [the co-valedictorian] this isn’t fair. This is an administrative decision,” Wimberly said in an interview with ABC News. In her lawsuit, she accuses the school of racial discrimination, saying that the district is more committed to advancing its white students than its black ones. (According to high-schools.com, there are 643 students at McGehee High School, and the student body is 50 percent black and 49 percent white.) “African-American students were not encouraged to take Honors or Advanced Placement classes,” her complaint reads. “Caucasian students had to almost opt out (of advanced classes).”
“We both know if the tables were turned, there wouldn’t be a co-valedictorian,” Wimberly said she told the other student. Her other student agreed, but was still listed as co-valedictorian and spoke at their graduation in May.
School officials deny that race was a factor.
“The issue that someone’s trying to paint is that this was a racially motivated,” Gathen told CNN. “That wasn’t an issue with (the co-valedictorians). This is strictly an academic issue and a policy issue, not a racial issue.”
According to the school’s handbook, the only requirement for Valedictorian is that “students must be continuously enrolled at McGehee High School the last two semesters without transferring during this time.” When determining class rank, the handbook says, “If two or more students take the same or equivalent course work and receive the same grades of ‘A’, a student with a greater number of courses will not be penalized.”
Gathen told CNN that Wimberly’s co-valedictorian had half a credit more than Wimberly and the difference in the students’ GPAs was minuscule—.03 or .05. If the white student’s GPA had been higher than Wimberly’s, Gathen said, he still would have appointed them co-valedictorians.
“I would have made the same decision,” he said. “I was the one who made the ultimate decision.”
One has to wonder: Is race really the only issue here? Or is part of the so-called “big mess” the fact that Wimberly is an unmarried teen mom? With valuable scholarships on the line, should grades be the only criteria by which valedictorians are chosen, or should officials be able to pick the student they feel best represents the school?

Teen guilty of beheading at least 4 people in Mexico

A 14-year-old born in the United States has been found guilty in a Mexican court of torturing and beheading at least four people and kidnapping three others.
The teenage hit man was sentenced to three years in a correctional facility, the maximum allowed under Mexican law. He also has to pay a 4.5 million Mexican peso fine ($387,500 U.S.).
The defendant, known as “El Ponchis” (“The Cloak”) is a 14-year-old boy from San Diego. Because he is a minor, his trial in Cuernavaca, Mexico, was closed to the public.
He was captured near Mexico City in December. In an on-camera interrogation by Mexican military authorities, the youth admitted to brutally killing people – the victims all were beheaded. The video shows a military interrogator asking the slim teenager with curly hair several questions.
“How many have you killed?,” he asks.
“Four,” he responded calmly.
“How did you execute them?”
“I slit their throats.”
A YouTube video that circulated last year purportedly showed the teenager beating a man with a two-by-four while the man was tied at the wrists and hanging from the ceiling, as other young people watched.
The teen was accused of of crimes related to drug trafficking – specifically cocaine and marijuana – illegal possession of military weapons, and violations against federal organized crime law “with the objective of committing kidnappings and aggravated murder,” juvenile court spokesman Juan Carlos Castro said before the trial.
“El Ponchis” is not the only minor in Mexico allegedly involved with drug cartels. Social media pictures have surfaced in the last year showing teenagers and young men holding high-caliber assault weapons and wearing masks.
Six youths were captured last October in a town about 30 miles south of Mexico City. Graffiti in the house where they were hiding linked them to the so-called South Pacific Cartel, a splinter group that formed after cartel leader and drug lord Arturo Beltran Leyva was killed in a shootout with the Mexican military in December of 2009.
