SWV Preps Comeback Album and Upcoming Reality Show

Sisters with Voices is back after parting ways in the late ’90s.
SWV, aka Sisters with Voices, released its last album A Special Christmas in 1997, but the trio promises something a bit more contemporary for its reunion album. Cheryl “Coko” Gamble, Tamara “Taj” Johnson-George and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons promise something that keeps up with the times.
“Same style just new millennium. Kick it up a notch, take it to the next level, but we’re still going to be ourselves,” says Coko of the group’s latest, releasing on Mass Appeal Entertainment. “[Mass Appeal] didn’t say no, they didn’t close the door in our face. No, they believed in us, so that’s always a plus.”
With production from Bryan Michael Cox and Lamb, the LP weeds out halfhearted music. “Whoever’s going to give us some hits, not any mediocre stuff,” she continues. “We’re looking for some heat.”
In addition to the album, the girls filmed a reality show that they’re currently shopping to networks. The show will explore the reasons that they went their separate ways more than a decade ago. “We’re going to be honest about it. Every day is not perfect,” says Taj, hoping the show will guide young singers. “They have to understand it’s not an easy road. It’s hard as hell out here and it doesn’t get easy at all. The more successful you become, the more work you have to put in. We want them to realize that you just don’t put on a cute little bra top and sing a note and dance and everything is gold.”
I haven’t heard from this group since the 90s, they made a lot of good music over the years, I can’t wait for their come back album and reality show.
Nas Announces His Tenth Solo Album

Nas may not be putting out Lost Tapes 2, but promises to deliver with his forthcoming solo album. The Queens, New York rapper spoke with Billboard about progress to the follow-up to 2008’s Untitled, claiming that he’s in a new state of mind and is inspired by new cats in the game.
“The last record I did was, I was in a different place than I am now,” he said. “Now, I’m happy to express that different place and I’m just happy about music. I’m watching everyone do their thing, young guys, women, artists just doing they thing.”
Naming Odd Future, Lil Wayne, Drake and more as current influences, Nasty Nas said that his tenth solo LP doesn’t yet have a concept. “My new album that I’m working on is free flowing,” he said. “At this point, there’s not one concept that sums up the whole record. I’m just flowing. It’s really too early to tell who I’ll be collaborating with.”
He also acknowledged that Untitled wasn’t an entirely solid record, and that he’s learned from his mistakes. “I don’t want to look back on this record – because I can look back on my last record and I know that record, some songs didn’t belong there. I really overthought it. I don’t want it to be like that on this record,” he continued. “I want to be able to play this next record after it’s done and feel like I did it. I have to do something that’s new. It’s just in me. I have to do something that feels like it’s right right now, and it could last.”

Lupe Fiasco Is Set To Top The Charts With His Album Lasers

The hard work and the wait may finally pay off for Chi town’s finest rhyme veteran, Lupe Fiasco.
His 3rd studio album, Lasers, was held up by Atlantic Records, but Lupe got his fans involved to demand the LP’s release.
Since hitting stores on March 8th, the fans have responded by supporting Lasers
and it’s now projected to sell anywhere from 190,000 to 220,000 copies according to The Chicago Sun Times.
Fiasco made headlines recently by taking a stance against the policies and bullshit upheld by the Obama administration.
I for one, am supporting Lupe all the way,

T-Pain Is Blaming Drake For His Album Hold-Up

T-Pain is blaming Drake for the hold up on his 4th studio album…(who knew he had that many albums)
T-Pain took to Twitter, to explain to his fans the reason for the hold up on his long-awaited fourth solo album RevolveR, was because he is waiting on his verse from Drake.
“I know yall waitin on the album but the last thing I need is a verse from drake and the album is complete,” he wrote. “So find drake and tell him to hurry the hell up and finish the verse Hahahahaaaa #twitterbomb.”
T-Pain also added that the track with Drake will be the next single off the album as well, and to look out for it as soon as Drake gets in his verse.
“By the way the song with drake on it is the next sigle as well so that’s why I haven’t dropped a new single yet. Jus lettin you know”
Personally I don’t think anyone is loosing sleep….just saying.
Waka Flocka’s mama disses Nicki Minaj’s Pink friday album

Waka Flocka mama Deb Atney is weighing in with her opinion on Nicki Minaj’s debut album
Pink Friday she calling it “terrible”.
Can’t say I didn’t see that one coming LOL, In an interview with VIBE.com, Deb Atney states that she feels Nicki Minaj
“let down” her fans with her Young Money debut, stating that she “went to far left” with her “pop” appeal.
“It’s terrible. I like some stuff, but she went too left. I don’t think people were ready for her to come [out with pop],” Atney said in the interview.“When I had Nicki, I really wanted her to sing. That’s why I took her for training cause Nicki loves singing, but she kept saying to me, ‘Deb, I can’t do it yet because people won’t understand.’ And that’s why the [rap] mixture was done to introduce them to all of Nicki.”
Atney also states that Nicki holstered too many “un-necessary” features that took away from her talent.
“I think [Pink Friday] was very disappointing to a lot of her fans. She didn’t need a lot of [the] features,” Atney continued. “That was one of the biggest things like… you gave people so many features, give them you now. Nicki could be so much better because—outside of anything that people say—she’s very multi-talented. I really wish that she would learn to be more of an artist.”
In addition to discussing her feelings on Nicki’s album, Atney also shared her opinion on the beef between Nicki and Lil’ Kim.
“My views on that is that she came too far to go back that route,” Atney said.
“Kim does not even have to go there. There are no comparisons to them. Some things are best left unsaid. The whole thing is stupid.I’m very disappointed that she would go that route. ‘Cause I know all that she was taught. She don’t have to go there with anybody. That was the stuff we always discussed. People had to learn to love Nicki— that’s how the door opened up. It wasn’t about Kim or Foxy or any of the rest of them. So I was just a little disappointed [by her album], but If she likes it, I love it. “

Kanye’s Album cover gets banned in the USA

On Sunday (Oct 17), Yeezy unveiled the official cover artwork for his upcoming
fifth studio album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”
the cover is now banned in the USA WHOOMP WHOOMP…
Kanye took to Twitter to rant:
“Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!” the rapper tweeted. “So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can’t have a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings. In the 70s album covers had actual nudity…It’s so funny that people forget that…Everything has been so commercialized now,” West went on to say. “I know that cover just blew yall minds…I wish yall could see how hard I’m smiling right now!!!”
An anonymous rep for Def Jam (Kanye’s label) hit up the Los Angeles Times, and told them that they urged the rapper to consider a different cover but also told him that if he wanted to use his proposed cover, “the label would stand behind him.”
According to the source, had Def Jam approved the cover, mass-market retailers like Best Buy and Walmart would likely decide not to stock the album due to the cover’s explicit nature, which would probably hurt sales. So in the end, Def Jam had to make the executive decision to ban the cover here in the States to avoid a situation like that.
“My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” is due in stores November 22nd!

A New Michael Jackson album is being released

A new Michael Jackson album will be released this November. According to his former manager, MJ had more than 100 unreleased songs that were stored in a vault. The album is part of a seven year contract the Jackson estate has with Sony Music… #sideeye
The 10 track album will be the first of a ten project deal that’s also includes reissues of his older albums, a new greatest hits set, a DVD collection, and even a karaoke and dance video game titled Michael Jackson: The Video Game.
