Birdman speaks on Nicki Minaj’s Alleged Shots at Lil Kim and Wayne Returning Home
Nov 12th

Sourec:vibe.com
The past year was a banner one for Cash Money, and 2011 is poised to be another. With the recent release of Young Money general Lil Wayne from prison and the much talked about November debut of Nicki Minaj (Pink Friday), as well as a forthcoming sophomore album from platinum boy wonder Drake, the powerful clique is set to once again rule the hip-hop landscape. Leading the charge is Cash Money CEO Brian “Baby” Williams. As usual, the outspoken Birdman has plenty to say about his crew’s current state of affairs and future from Weezy’s upcoming Carter IV album to Nicki’s beef with Lil’ Kim. —Keith Murphy
VIBE: Can you describe the emotions of having Wayne back home?
Birdman: It feels good for my son to be back home. Shit, we’re all happy.
What was the first thing Wayne did after being released from Rikers?
He spent time with his family. It was important for Wayne to see his children because they didn’t get to visit him while he was away. So his first priority was to see his kids. I would go see him every two weeks, but being out that cage is different. When he finally met with the team he told us, “I love you.” That’s my son. I’ll give my life for my family.
Will we see The Carter IV in February as some of the news reports have suggested?
Well, we have the Young Money/Cash Money tour starting in February so we have a lot of new music coming out. Carter IV is coming out at the top of next year.
There’s been some talk of a Drake/Lil Wayne collaboration album. Will that project ever see the light of day?
That’s very possible. Because Wayne works a lot and Drake is out there with us too. They’re gonna do a lot of recording together so I don’t see why not. And I have a solo album coming out at the top of the year called Bigger Than Life. Then we have a Father Like Son album that we’ll drop around Father’s Day. But I’m more into them. I want to see our artists be as successful as possible. They’re young. The bigger they are, the bigger we are. That’s my whole motivation now.
We hear Drake is already working on a follow-up.
Drake will probably come out March or April. Then we have DJ Khaled’s album, Bow Wow’s album and then my own album. So we’re looking to start at the top of the year with a lot of releases. Cash Money never got a chance to do that throughout our whole career. So we’re looking forward to starting at the top of the year. In 2011 we’re set to put out 15 to 20 releases.
The buzz surrounding Nicki Minaj seems to be at its highest point . But the song that everyone’s talking about is “Roman’s Revenge,” with Eminem. Were you shocked to hear Nicki go toe-to-toe with Em?
Well, Nicki doesn’t surprise me anymore. I be around her a lot and I think she’s very talented. I think she has surprised other people, but not me. Going back to when we first signed her I felt that she had this special talent. Nicki can rap…she has style; she is classy with it. She has all the elements. And she is around the best that’s doing it today. She has a team, but Nicki is handling her own.
Given Cash Money’s past policy of staying out of beefs, did you know Nicki was going to go at Lil’ Kim?
Real talk, but maybe Kim asked for it. Usually we don’t try to make money like that…that’s not our theory. We make great music. We have never been the type to make songs about motherfuckas. I think Nicki is speaking in general, not just Kim personally. A lot of motherfuckers have been hating on her success. To me, they are all asking for it. I don’t think any of them has as a talented clique as Nicki. We a movement.
What comes to mind when you hear Eminem call your girl Nicki Smalls?
That means a lot. It’s great that Nicki is being recognized. Everybody is paying attention. For her to be working with Em and these different acts outside of Cash Money shows that she’s handling her own business. Nicki sings, she raps…we try to have well-rounded artists. Wayne is the same way. He raps, sings and plays guitar.
(You really think Wayne can Sing?… C’mon son, you for real Baby? #fohwtbs)
Same with Drake with his singing, acting and rapping. We are molding them to not just be rappers. Just don’t limit yourself.
Another Cash Money/Young Money artist that’s been making noise recently is Tyga. Why do you think fans are finally embracing him?
I think it’s all his hard work. Tyga is driven. It was great for him to be on tour with Drake. That was a good move. And really Tyga can go…he can rap. That young boy can do it. I think he’s the next big star from the clique. And I think Bow Wow is next.
You mentioned Bow Wow. A lot of music sites and blogs rolled their eyes when the news that he was signing to Cash Money came out. What was it about Bow Wow that helped you see him as a viable artist beyond his heartthrob success?
I think Bow Wow is great. He has a great record out right now with him and Chris Brown (“Aint Thinkin’ About You”). I think Bow Wow is going to surprise a lot of people with his album. I see greatness in the young boy. Remember, Bow Wow is already a star. He has platinum albums and [movies]. But now he’s in a different atmosphere; with a different crew. All I’m doing is bringing that great music to him; I’m putting him with the Waynes and the Drakes and letting him do his thing. But at the end of the day, Bow Wow has to do him. And he’s adjusting great.
Chris Paul’s New Orleans Hornets have been one of the surprise teams in the NBA so far. Care to make a bet on their chances of winning the NBA Finals trophy?
[Laughs] It’s funny you asked that. We’re on our way to the Hornets game where they will be [playing] the Miami Heat. The Big Three are not to be played with, them boys are strong. But I think we have a good team. We’ll see.

Tyler Perry speaks to Oprah about being abused
Oct 22nd

source: (CBS)
Tyler Perry has worn a lot of hats in his 41 years, including actor, director, producer, and writer. Now he’s speaking out about one more:
Survivor of childhood abuse.
In an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show, Perry said he experienced severe emotional and physical abuse at the hands of his father. In addition, he was sexually abused by four other adults.
“It was a living hell,” he said of his childhood.
But now he’s coming forward with all the brutal details in an effort to liberate himself emotionally – and to lend support to others who may have experienced, or may be experiencing, childhood abuse.
He certainly has a big audience.
More than three million reports of child abuse are made every year in the U.S., and each report can involve more than one children, according to Childhelp, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing abuse. In 2007, approximately 5.8 million children were involved in an estimated 3.2 million child abuse reports and allegations.
“I think that everyone who’s been abused, there is a string to the puppet master, and they’re holding you hostage to your behaviors and what you do,” he said. “At some point, you have to be responsible for them. What I started to do is untie the strings and chase them down to where they came from. And I was able to free myself and understand that even though these things happened to me, it was not me.”
Perry described several specific instances of abuse to Oprah, who has said she was raped as a girl.
In one instance, Perry recalls, his father beat him brutally with a vacuum cord.
In another, Perry’s father tackled and beat him after they had a confrontation over changing a tire.
Perry said he had been watching his father trying unsuccessfully to loosen the lug bolts. “He looked up at me, and there was a smirk on my face,” he told Oprah. “All I remember is him tackling me, and I remember holding onto a chain-link fence so tight, my hands are bloody and he’s hitting me.”
Perry said he had been sexually abused by three men, as well as the mother of one of his childhood friends. The abuse, he said, made it difficult for him to figure out his sexuality.
He said his late mother tried to protect him from his father’s wrath but couldn’t, adding that he has forgiven his father despite the fact that he remains unrepentant.
Not long ago, Perry tried to get his father to cop to his transgressions. What he got instead was completely unexpected.
“He sends a message through my brother saying, “If I had beat your ass one more time, you probably would have been Barack Obama,” Perry said.
Oprah’s one-word response summed things up nicely “Wow.”

Wyclef Will NOT be president of Haiti
Aug 20th

Wyclef Jean will not be the next President of Haiti,
the electoral council of Haiti has decided that Wyclef was not on the list of approved candidates
who satisfy legal requirements to run in the election.
A representative from the CEP, Haiti’s electoral council, announced to the press after Wyclef
met with Haitian President Rene Preval for more than two hours on Thursday.
Wyclef told the Associated Press that he felt the exchange with Rene Preval was positive:
“I feel good,” the former Fugees frontman said. “I feel that the president that I voted for five years ago is the same person that was sitting in front of me today.”
The country’s electoral council, which is known as the CEP,
was supposed to release the presidential candidate list on Tuesday, but postponed the decision.
Haiti’s electoral law requires candidates to have five consecutive years of residency in Haiti,
among other requirements, such as tax compliance.
Wyclef claimed he met those requirements but he didn’t,
I believe he felt his fame would help the government
over look the requirements, WHOOMP WHOOMP better luck next time Wyclef.
jadakiss speaks on the Kim and Nicki beef
Jun 26th

Rapper Jadakiss has decided to add his two cents as well concerning the Lil Kim/Nicki Minaj “beef”
The former LOX member says rap the beef between the female MCs is a bit ‘corny’ and that Kim waited far too long to call out Nicki.
He told Jenny Boom Boom: “I think it’s kinda corny. I can’t knock Kim for saying whatever she wants to say about Nicki but you could have been said it. That’s the only thing I feel. Don’t wait until she gets scorching hot to try to go at her. She’s been copying her since she came in with the big crotch photos shoots so if you want to just say something, you had to [say something] when she came out. It looks kinda corny like she’s trying to get a little, you know what I mean, looks like she’s trying to reap some benefits.
“She’s the Queen Bee, that’s hands down, I think she’s just paying homage, if you follow Nicki, she’s got a little Kim in her, she’s got a little bit of everybody…I can’t really knock her for that. When you’re in this game and heating up, they want to see you go at somebody before you even get your real stripes, you gotta have your nice little battle or something significant and even y’all get involved, the media, the TV networks, to see what the outcome is so…she writes her own rhymes and she’s nice, so you know, let’s see what happens.”

Trina speaks about Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim’s beef
Jun 26th
Trina has decied to give her two cents, on the Lil kim and nick minaj beef,
In an interview with Rollingout.com, Trina discusses why she feels that the beef
has been blown out of proportion and also why she feels that it needs to be squashed.
“I just think that it is a miscommunication,” Trina said in the interview. “I know Kim and she is a sweet person and I know Nicki too and she is also a good person. I just think that everything has been blown out of proportion and the two of them need to kiss and make up.”
She also explained that the catty beefs are one of the reasons that female emcees aren’t successful in the industry.
“I just think that both of them need to move on,” Trina continued. “I know where Kim is coming from because she was the first to do it and wants people to pay her respect, but I also know that Nicki is not out there saying f*ck Kim either. That is one of the problems that we have [as female emcees], you don’t see T.I. dissing Jay-Z or Jay-Z dissing J.D.; so I just think we need to move on and make good music.”

Lil Kim responds to drake
Jun 12th

I told y’all it was only a matter of time before this so called fake “beef” spiraled out of control…
Lil ‘Kim is now pissed and she is responding back to Drake’s diss…
she says: I really liked Drake. I use to like him but for him to have the audacity to disrespect me. This nigga gonna f*cking shout me out when Ray J is the one that said it. How bitchy do you look right now. You look like a straight p*ssy, P*ssy! Cause you came at me and I am a f*cking female!
when I wrote about Drake responding to Kim for the 3rd time, I felt at that time Drake should have stayed out of it,
after all he is a man and Nicki is a big girl, so he should let her handle her own “beef”
Drake never responds to diss tracks from male rappers nor did he call Ray J out, so he does get the #sideeye for that…
with that being said Lil’ kim is tripping, why is she acting like Drake went in to the studio and wrote “hit em up 2010″
all he did was state his opinion, which i did agree with… she is coming off as childish and desperate,
she needs to leave it alone….
if your so hot drop a NEW hot album, and stop relying on drama to recreate a buzz…End of story.
lil kim once again dissing nicki and performing “crush on you” from 97…
Lil’ Kim Speaks On Her Opinion On Nicki Minaj, Drake & Diddy 1
Lil’ Kim goes in on Drake part 2
Diddy speaks on Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj
Jun 12th
Puff and his Dirty Money crew were on Tim Westwood’s show friday, when Diddy decided to address Lil’ Kim’s recent behavior.
Diddy starts by saying:
I love Lil Kim man and I’m sorry that she’s mad. I never would have thought by me working with another artist that she would take it the wrong way but if she’s taking it the wrong way, it ain’t meant like that.
Nicki has never did anything to her. She ain’t never not paid her homage.
She ain’t swagger jack and say nothing negative about her. I think Kim needs to understand Nicki as a whole, it’s always been respect. Nicki isn’t trying to be her. We still riding with Nicki and we still riding with Kim. We love and respect the days in history that we’ve had with Lil Kim…
I hate calling this mess beef, because a rap beef involves 2 parties,
Nicki Minaj had yet to speak or drop a diss track …
this is basically a promotional stunt by all the parties involved,
i’m not buying it at all…some folks will do anything to sell records and re-create a buzz.
anyways to hear more of diddy whining and crying over this fake a$$ beef click play…
