Twitter is now restricting user content in certain countries
Jan 30th

in which the company announced it has refined its technology so it can censor messages on a country-by-country …
source: (Reuters) – Twitter announced Thursday that it would begin restricting Tweets in specific countries,
renewing questions about how the social media platform will handle issues of free speech as it rapidly expands its global user base. Until now, Twitter had to remove a Tweet from its global network if it received a takedown request from a government. But the company said in a blog post published Thursday that it now has the ability to selectively block a Tweet from appearing to users in one country.
“Starting today, we give ourselves the ability to reactively withhold content from users in a specific country while keeping it available in the rest of the world,” the Twitter blog said.
Twitter gave as examples of restrictions it might cooperate with, such as “pro-Nazi content” in France and Germany, where it is banned. It said even with the possibility of such restrictions, Twitter would not be able to coexist with some countries.
“Some differ so much from our ideas that we will not be able to exist there,” it said.
“As we continue to grow internationally, we will enter countries that have different ideas about the contours of freedom of expression,” Twitter wrote.
In the interest of transparency, Twitter said, it has built a mechanism to inform users in the event that a Tweet is being blocked.

R Kelly in Foreclosure…smh
Jul 13th
source: Chicago Real Estate Daily
Grammy Award-winning R&B artist R. Kelly is facing a $2.9-million foreclosure suit on his Olympia Fields mansion, a vivid reminder of the steep decline in residential property values.
The singer-songwriter, whose full name is Robert S. Kelly, has failed to make monthly mortgage payments since June 2010 on the property on Maros Lane, according to a complaint filed by J. P. Morgan Chase Bank N.A. last month in Cook County Circuit Court.
The 11,140-square-foot home was constructed in the south suburb 11 years ago by Mr. Kelly, whose hits have included “I Believe I Can Fly,” “Bump N Grind” and “Ignition.”
The two-story house sits behind an imposing gate on a 3.7-acre site. The structure features six full bathrooms, seven half-baths and a four-car garage, according to the Cook County Assessor’s website.
Mr. Kelly has not lived in the Maros Lane home for more than a year, according to a person familiar with his affairs. The singer stopped making payments on the mortgage in an attempt to force the bank to negotiate a modification of the loan, according to the source.
The appraised value of the home fell 26%, to $3.8 million, in 2010, compared to $5.2 million in 2009, according to an Assessor estimate. The home is now worth less than the debt, the source said.
A spokesman for Mr. Kelly declined to comment. A spokeswoman for JPMorgan Chase declined to comment.
The original loan was issued in 1999 for $3.5 million, according to the complaint. The current principal balance due is more than $2.9 million, not including unpaid interest, which accrues at a rate of $251 per day, and other charges.
#Wrapitup GONORRHEA SUPERBUG FOUND IN JAPAN
Jul 13th

source:LA Times
Folks really need to stop f*cking every girl in the world, and start “wraping it up”
According to new reports, scientists in Japan have discovered a “suberbug” strain of gonorrhea that is immune to current forms of treatment. This new suberbug is called “H041″ and has evolved to a point where previous forms of antibiotic medicines have ZERO effect on it whatsoever.
Gonorrhea, known to generations of Americans as “clap,” is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases in the world. In the United States alone, an estimated 700,000 new cases are diagnosed each year, according to the CDC, affecting men and women. The disease exhibits no symptoms in about half of women and in about 2% to 5% of men.
When symptoms appear, they typically include a burning sensation when urinating and discharge of pus from the genitals. In women, it can cause chronic pelvic pain, ectopic pregnancies and loss of fertility. In men, it can also lead to loss of fertility. In both sexes, it increases the risk of transmitting or contracting HIV. Untreated, it can prove fatal.
According to Maryn McKenna, author of “Superbug,” Japanese scientists warned in 2007 that they had seen four cases of gonorrhea that did not respond to cefixime, but were treatable with ceftriaxone.
In 2010, Norwegian researchers reported that they had observed two such cases. Then, in January of this year, Japanese researchers reported that they had isolated a strain of gonorrhea from the throat of a sex worker that was highly resistant to both drugs. The new report Sunday revealed further details about the strain.
A team headed by Dr. Magnus Unemo of the Swedish Reference Laboratory for Pathogenic Neisseria sequenced the genome of the new strain and found four never-before seen mutations that were responsible for the resistance to the cephalosporins.
Perhaps more frightening, when they grew the bacterium in culture with other strains of gonorrhea, the new strain was quickly able to pass its resistance along to the other strains, increasing their resistance to the drugs 500-fold. That, said the researchers, suggests that the new strain could spread resistance rapidly through the population.
The CDC report issued last Thursday examined more than 6,000 gonorrhea samples obtained in the U.S. since 2000. The study found that the number of samples with at least some resistance to cephalosporins grew slowly during the first part of the decade, but has been increasing recently.
From 2000 to 2006, only 0.02% of the sample showed resistance to cefixime, but by 2009 the proportion had grown to 0.11% Most of the samples with increased drug resistance were obtained from men who have sex with men. The largest growth in incidence during the period was observed in Hawaii (from 0% to 7.7%) and California (from 0% to 4.5%). All of the cases were eventually cured by used higher-than-normal doses of the cephalosporins, but such high doses can have adverse side effects.
The CDC report urged that physicians treat new cases of gonorrhea with cephalosporins and the antibiotic azithromycin in an effort to curb resistance. The agency said it is also working with the National Institutes of Health
to identify existing drugs that might be effective against the strains and to develop new antibiotics.
The bug has only found in Japan … the U.S. has no reported cases (yet)… either way be safe!
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Announce Final Performance In Cleveland Ohio
Jul 1st

The group will perform one last time despite earlier reports that they would continue to reunite for performance purposes in the future.
Cleveland, Ohio emcee Krayzie Bone made headlines this April when he publicly departed from multi-platinum Hip Hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
The longtime spokesman for the group cited “uncontrollable circumstances” for his departure,
after releasing eight studio albums with the group since their signing to Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records in the early 1990s.
Krayzie clarified his statements. The emcee revealed that he’s in frequent contact with his Bone brothers, including Bizzy Bone,
who’s been estranged from the group during numerous albums and tours.
“I’ve spoken to my Bone brothers; I speak to Bizzy [Bone] almost every day, I speak to Layzie [Bone], [Flesh-N-Bone], I talk to Wish [Bone] every day,” confirmed Krayzie. “We’ll be making an announcement about us getting back together for performance purposes. I know the market is big for Bone Thugs performances. It can be even bigger with all of us together. This is true family. We’re going to fall out in public and in private, but there is nothing too big to keep us from coming back and doing business.”
The group, with Bizzy, last released Uni5: The World’s Enemy in 2010 on Warner Brothers Records.
[June 22]
UPDATE: Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will reunite for one last show with a co-headlining date with Drake. The gig, which will take place during the 2nd Annual Ohio Homecoming,
also features DJ E-V, Stalley, Ray Cash, iPhonic, Ray Jr., Aaron LaFette and Freshy & J Doza.

The former Death Row Records CEO is the latest to join PETA to fight animal cruelty.
Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight is the latest to participate in a PETA ad campaign.
The West Coast executive will star in a series of ads to be shot in the forthcoming weeks as part of their anti-dog chaining campaign.

Waka’s advertisement featured the “Hard in the Paint” rapper fully nude save for a chain pendant placed over his private parts.
I’m surprise any endorsements wants to deal with Suge knight… He’s nothing but trouble, I guess he needed the money… LOL
Jay-Z Named In Ticket-Fixing Scandal
May 27th

Hov is reportedly one of many celebrities who gets out of traffic tickets.
When Jay-Z’s driver gets pulled over for violating traffic laws, he gets off easy.
Hov is one of many celebrities including A-Rod and Raymond Felton to use their star power to weasel out of tickets,
with policemen unlawfully fixing tickets after they learn that the violators were celebrities or celebrity affiliates.
The report claims that Jay-Z’s driver was pulled over last year for speeding on the West Side Highway. A “friendly” cop lost the paperwork after it was filed, and the case was subsequently swept under the rug. Jay-Z’s publicist declined to comment.
The Internal Affairs Bureau is currently investigating these incidents. If found in violation of the law, as many as 40 policeman could be indicted for “improperly voiding tickets, losing paperwork or purposely missing court dates in order to squash summonses.”
Why is anyone shocked by this? Celebs get away with everything #next!
Hip-hop artist Cassidy arrested in Hackensack
May 18th

The Philadelphia Police warrant squad called the Hackensack Police Department on Saturday morning to tell officers there was an open warrant for Hackensack resident Barry Reese,
also known as the rapper Cassidy, Hackensack police Lt. Timothy Lloyd said.
The warrant was for violating probation, but Reese is also a suspect in a murder and two attempted murders in Philadelphia, Lloyd said.
Philadelphia police knew from a prior investigation that the rapper lived in Hackensack, Lloyd said.
Philadelphia police told their Hackensack counterparts “to consider this person armed and dangerous,” and this was a “high-risk warrant,” Lloyd said.
Officers from the Hackensack Police Emergency Response Team and the police department’s juvenile bureau watched Reese’s home Saturday on Reilly Court, Lloyd said.
Reese left his house about 1:30 p.m. and was followed by police to a local convenience store, Lloyd said.
An undercover ERT officer went in the store and positively identified Reese, he said.
When Reese came out of the store, “the ERT units moved in and conducted a felony motor vehicle stop,” Lloyd said.
Reese “was very surprised,” Lloyd said. The officers who arrested the rapper “did an outstanding job,” he said.
“Without the proper teamwork going on, this could have spiraled out of control quickly.”
No one was injured in the arrest, Lloyd said.
Reese, 28, will be brought to the Bergen County Jail Annex to await extradition to Philadelphia, Lloyd said.
Cassidy’s most well-known single is 2005’s “I’m a Hustla,” which reached No. 8 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts.
For some reason Rappers can’t seem to stay out of trouble!
Will Smith In Talks To Star As A SLAVE In Quentin Tarantino Film
May 8th

Will Smith might be headed back to the wild, wild west. The rapper-turned-actor is in talks to star in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming spaghetti Western film Django Unchained, which focuses on “a slave in the Old South who teams with a German bounty hunter to search for his wife.”
The film, which begins production in the fall, also may include Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz in key roles. With Louisiana as a likely forerunner for a shooting location, Django will follow Smith’s title role as a “freed slave who seeks to reunite with his slave wife, a journey which will see him team up with a German bounty hunter to take down an evil plantation owner.”
Jackson is in talks to play Monsieur Calvin Candie, a villain who is also a slave and clashes with Django.
Tarantino has requested Smith to star in the flick, based on a script that he penned himself.
Will smith is one of the first rappers to start acting and doing movies , He is one of my favorite actors!
DJ Quik Details L.A.P.D.’s Initial Pursuit Of Him In The Notorious B.I.G. Murder Investigation
May 4th

Like many skeptical observers of the recent release of F.B.I. files related to the long-mired investigation into the murder of The Notorious B.I.G., one of the initial targets of law enforcement for the crime too believes that the content of those files contain propaganda purposefully contrived for public view, while the feds continue to withhold valuable information from the masses regarding the murder.
“They know who killed that man,” scoffed DJ Quik in response to those files before concluding his recent eye-popping interview. “You know they picked me up for questioning about that shit before?”
In 1998, at the conclusion of his third verse to “You’z A Ganxta,” Quik briefly referenced the Los Angeles Police Department’s initial suspicions of his involvement in the shooting.
“Just because I was there at that [VIBE] party with Biggie before the shooting, they tapped my phones, found out my accountant’s number and went and posted up and waited for me at my accountant’s office to pick me up for questioning,” recalled Quik. “And it was only because I owned a ’95 [Chevy] Impala [SS] that was black cherry colored like the one that was used supposedly in the shooting – which was probably black, mine was burgundy, but at night they look identical in color.”
While the L.A.P.D. sought out Quik to question him about his ownership of the same make and model car seen by eyewitnesses speeding away from the scene of the shooting, they never interviewed their then fellow L.A.P.D. officer David Mack. Mack, who also owned an Impala fitting the description of the alleged shooter’s vehicle, is the man onetime lead detective on the case, Russell Poole, has long suspected of arranging the hit on The Notorious B.I.G.
“When they came to my accountant’s [office] to come get me, I ended up calling my lawyer and I told him what was going on,” continued Quik regarding his ordeal as murder suspect. “So he called the Parker Center and arranged for me to go up there and talk to ‘em, instead of them gafflin’ me up and making a scene. So I went down there and told ‘em everything I knew, everything I saw, the whole shit. And after I did that the burden was off. ‘Cause it was rumors in the street that I did that shit. How am I gonna kill Biggie Smalls when I like him? Who does that?!”
Following the murder, one of the immediate reports from a reliable Hip Hop media source, veteran Bay Area-based journalist Davey D, documented the initial speculation that surrounded DJ Quik, noting, “Rumors immediately began to surface. Witnesses claim that Notorious BIG [had] earlier that evening engaged in a heated argument with DJ Quik. The rumors speculating that Quik had something to do with the shooting immediately circulated around the Bay Area.”
His association to then Death Row Records CEO Marion “Suge” Knight, and both men’s open affiliations to Piru Blood gang sets, further fueled speculation that both were somehow involved in the slaying of Biggie Smalls.
Quik however has long claimed an otherwise innocuous connection to his childhood surroundings, as evidenced on his new album, The Book of David, with the punctuation to one of his “Poppin’” bars: “Party at the St. Regis multipurpose room wit’ a grip, Blood.”
But regardless of the Compton, California native’s associations, past or present, the recent document dump by the F.B.I. is in the opinion of many much like the misguided pursuit of a fellow artist for the murder of B.I.G.: just another distraction.
“Of course [it is],” agreed Quik. “Unfortunately, we really did lose – we lost the essence of Hip Hop. We lost the core. Hip Hop [became] a very expensive sports car body without an engine.”
Quik’s revelations above regarding the L.A.P.D.’s attempt to possibly pin the murder of The Notorious B.I.G. on him, along with all of the other jaw-dropping revelations , were not supposed to surface during an interview, but rather from Quik’s own pen.
“I was gonna write a book,” he explained of the origins of The Book of David concept, “and chronicle my life, and use some names that people can relate to and whatever. Then I thought about it, How important are my memoirs when Hip Hop don’t give a fuck about me? So, I’m thinking it makes no sense to write a book.”
Quik instead decided to share his “Killer Dope” stories of struggle and survival at various points during his new audio diary.
“It would probably be better if I had somebody do a biography instead of me doing an autobiography,” he further explained of the decision to pass on penning his memoir. “Because, when I started writing my book, some of that shit that I had to recall and think about that was made for interesting reading made me cry on the fuckin’ legal pad, real tears. So, I think if that shit made me cry …. Who would do that to human beings? I started thinking about that shit, and I realized that this shit would probably be too much information for anybody. A lot of people would be able to relate. And it’s the same ol’ sad story: grew up in a poorer neighborhood on welfare and joined a gang because I got tired of being bullied. But, some of that shit was just plain fuckin’ strange, and I don’t even wanna share that shit. So I’d rather do a violent, vile, vitriolic-ass record – on some songs – and be cathartic on records, and then still share the passionate side of the man that I am, that makes those dope-ass, really melodic songs. But I am all music, so I am the very worst of it, and I am the absolute best of it.”
I hope Dj Quik gets his name cleared ASAP!
