Sugar Hill Gang Working First Album In Over Decade, Will Be Featured In New Documentary

The Sugar Hill Gang, famous for the iconic single “Rapper’s Delight,” are the subject of a new documentary. They’re also setting their sights on releasing their first album in over ten years.
Iconic group, The Sugarhill Gang will be releasing their first album in more than ten years, according to a report by AllHipHop.com. The group is currently recording this album, the first since their 1999 children’s album (Jump On It!). The Gang is most known for their 1979 hit, “Rapper’s Delght.”
Currently, the group will be a focal point of “I Want My Name Back,” a documentary done by producer Roger Paradiso. Paradiso spoke with AllHipHop about the documentary and also about the group’s negative experience with the industry.
“They’re working on a new album and have been for a while,” Paradiso noted. “They got so disillusioned during their first experience. If that song [the seminal hit "Rapper's Delight"] happened today, they’d be set for life. But they are living a very modest life.”
The group’s involvement with “I Want My Name Back” also explains the various obstacles they have had to battle while in the industry, including legal woes and financial problems.
“Their recording career came to an end not really because they wanted to, but they were under such a bad contract,” Paradiso added. “They started touring and started learning how they were getting ripped off,” Paradiso said. “When their contract came up, they got legal advice, and they tried to negotiate a better contract and the label didn’t want to. They had no publishing control and they certainly weren’t paid correctly on the royalty side.”
No finalized release date has been officially provided for either project.

Unfortunately for Mega, news of a past life as an informant didn’t gel too well for Tip,
Tip and many others believe that Mega set him up…
While the former artist led a tirade of lyrical assaults on the rapper, Tip basically remained silent on the subject, but now that Tip is a free man he’s been opening up about the situation.

the one thing i found interesting during this lonnnng drawn out hood interview,
is that Alfamega hints to the fact that, Tip is down with secret societies aka the illuminati,
basically he’s saying what a lot of folks have been saying for a while.
folks say that Tip only got a year in the joint, cus he’s an illuminati puppet,
how many ex felons get caught with military type guns, and silencers…and only do a year?
anyways who knows… maybe Mega’s is STILL pissed that Tip fired him, and told the world that he was a snitch, either way there’s 3 sides to every story… his, hers, and the truth.

Kelis’ new album cover… plus Nas has to pay up!

In case you care Kelis’ new album is due to hit stores June 6, the cover for her album has just been released.
it’s called “Flesh Tone” This is her fifth album, it will feature production from Will.I.Am, David Guetta, Dj Ammo, Benny Benassi, Diplo, Dj Switch, Free School and Boys Noise.
I have no plans to buy the album, i wonder if she go’s platinum…
will the judge lower NAS’s child support and Alimony payments *kanyeshrug*…just saying!
if you havne’t heard NAS was ordered to pay more than $350,000 for a combination of back child support,
alimony and both lawyer and accountant fees, for him and kelis.
On Monday, he was told to immediately hand over $47,249 in back child support,
and $40,454 in back spousal support after failing to make the scheduled payments.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Nas was also punished with a $10,000 increase in the amount he has to pay Kelis on a monthly basis until he pays off the $299,000 he still owes her.
He’s also now responsible for a $155,787 bill for Kelis’ legal fees, as well as $48,549 to cover her accounting costs.
As far as I’m concerned Kelis is stright, so NO i will not be putting any more money in her pocket lol,
i would rather buy a c.d from a struggling artist real talk.
Shyne is back new single coming soon…

Shyne aka the artist that @diddy left hanging…is gearing up to release his first official single called “Messiah” from his upcoming album next week.
According to reports, Shyne will drop the single Tuesday (April 13th) he is collaborating with Scott Storch, who is producing the majority of the album.
The album, which is the first on his new business venture through his independent label, Gangland Records and Island/Def Jam, will be the first from Shyne in almost 10 years.
I’m glad to see him back doing his thing, I can’t wait to hear the track hopefully he hasn’t lost his touch…just saying!
