Rick Ross Sued By Nigerian State For Cancelled Concert

Rick Rozay finds himself in legal hot water after he bailed on a festival performance in Nigeria’s Cross River State.
Rick Ross may not forgive, but apparently the government of Nigeria’s Cross River State doesn’t either. The Bawse was recently slapped with a lawsuit by the Nigerian state’s government for canceling a performance date at the Calabar Festival and failing to reimburse the performance fees.
Rick Rozay abruptly cancelled his performance at this year’s Calabar Festival, a nearly month-long music festival funded by the Cross River State government. In addition to failing to notify the concert organizers of his intention to cancel his performance, the Miami rapper has failed to reimburse them for his performance fees, which he had already cashed.
The Cross River State government has hired lawyers within the United States to sue the rapper for breach of contract.
Rick Ross’ Twitter Account Hacked By 50 Cent Impersonator

A clever hacker changed Rawse’s avatar and background to 50 Cent icons and wallpaper and posed as the G-Unit general.
Last night, a 50 Cent impersonator hacked into Rick Ross’ Twitter account (@rickyrozay), changing the background, name and profile picture to that of Fif’s page and posing as the G-Unit leader.
The updates began last night with a tweet stating, “I want to impact peoples lives more. I created a new goal for my self, I want to feed a billion people in africa over the next 5 years.” For the next two hours, the 50 Cent impersonator interacted with fans, tweeted at Shawty Lo and telling aspiring rappers to call G-Unit and ask for Dr. Dre.
After inflicting the damage, the hacker said that it had been an “entertaining social experiment” and that “if you think 50 Cent really has the mental capacity and/or time to hack a Twitter account, you’re even more gullible.”

Last summer there were a war of words between both Young Jeezy and Rick Ross.
Surprisingly, the two are both label mates at Def Jam Records. However that did not stop them from taking many subliminal shots at each other.

Lil Kim’s vocals have been stripped off Monica’s new single because it features a Biggie Smalls sample and Big’s mother refuses to OK the clearance if Lil Kim is attached to the project…Last week Monica dropped her new single called “Anything To Find You” featuring Lil Kim and Rick Ross and a sample of Notorious B.I.G.’s “Who Shot Ya?”
The single debuted at #71 on the Billboard chart, then suddenly it was announced Lil Kim would no longer be featured because the executor of Biggie’s estate,
his mom Voletta Wallace, refused to clear the sample after learning Lil Kim was on the track.
Monica addressed the situation on Twitter, because Lil Kim STANS started going off on Monica….

DMX Reveals Rick Ross Wants Him To Join Maybach Music Group

DMX has revealed that Rick Ross reached out to him while behind bars showing interest in signing the gruff MC to his Maybach Music Group imprint. Dark Man X explained that Rawse’s people sent a letter to him in prison with the intention of getting him on the label.
“Rick Ross’ peoples wrote me a letter while I was in here,” he said. “Yeah like ‘Yo we got a home for you. We’ll pick you up in a limo. Just come to Miami. Just come, we got you.’”
X is considering their offer, but is afraid of getting tangled up in Ross’ Illuminati affiliation. “I’m thinking about it. It was a good feeling. I respect him as an artist, and I would like to work with him. But he got the whole Illuminati thing going on. I got fans who write me like ‘I’m glad you’re not a part of that.’ And I don’t know what it’s really about entirely. So it might be like a good thing.”
As of now, he’s up for a collaboration with Ross, but is lukewarm on the MMG deal. “Yeah. I have respect for him and he expressed interest that he wanted to work with me while I was out. So I definitely want do a song with him, but I don’t know about the record label thing. I would have to see what his camp is like and feel people out. I’m not the average artist.”
Rick Ross Gets Cazal Logo Face Tattoo

It looks like Rick Ross has joined Gucci Mane, Game and Yung LA in the regrettable face tattoo club thanks to his love of vintage eyewear.
Rick Ross has apparently taken his love of expensive and vintage eyewear to another level after recently getting the Cazal logo tattooed under his left eye. Ross reportedly owns a huge collection of the designer frames, which were made popular by artists such as Darryl “DMC” McDaniels made Carl Zalloni’s signature eyewear famous during the 80’s and 90’s
In more recent years, Method Man, Jay-Z and Ross brought the vintage look back. And while Ross will likely be compared to the likes of Game, Yung LA and Gucci Mane with random face tattoos, this isn’t his first time getting some face ink. “The Bawse” also has the Maybach Music Group logo tattooed on the left side of his face.

Rick Ross Recalls Drawing Inspiration From EPMD

While visiting the Cannes Film Festival in France, Rick Ross reminisces about laying vocals down on the Erick Onasis album with EPMD’s Erick Sermon.
Prior to his Def Jam days, and even before making a name for himself at Slip-N-Slide, Rick Ross says he drew inspiration from another former labelmate.
“I used to be chillin’ at the homie Erick Sermon’s crib in Long Island,” Ross recalled while filming a viral video at the Cannes Film Festival. “This is history that a lot of motherfuckers don’t know. If you go back to that Erick Onasis album, I’m on that album.”
Sermon would eventually leave the house that Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin built after EPMD broke up. Due to contractual issues, he began recording under the name Erick Onasis as a nod to Greek businessman Aristotle Onasis. Ross, who was then recording under the name Teflon Da Don, appeared on the 2000 album Def Squad Presents: Erick Onasis on the track “Ain’t Shit To Discuss.”
At their peak, Sermon and Parrish Smith introduced fans to Redman, Das Efx, Keith Murray and K-Solo, who all enjoyed solo success after being members of Def Squad and Hit Squad. They were the precursor to outfits such as Ruff Ryders, Roc-a-fella and even Ross’ own Maybach Music Group roster. As someone who is often praised for his ear for beats, Ross said he drew inspiration from EPMD’s “Jane” series.
“This shit just brings me back to when I made ‘Maybach Music’ part one through three,” Ross added. “My first time seeing that was in EPMD’s music with ‘Jane.’ I loved all the different parts. As I listen to all that classic shit, that shit was really inspirational.

Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group “Self Made” will be released May 23rd

On May 24, Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group will release Self Made Volume 1, the label’s first compilation. Now distributed by Warner Music, Maybach Music has expanded its roster this year to include Philadelphia, Pennsylvania emcee Meek Mill, Atlanta Georgia’s Pill and Washington DC rapper Wale. While Maybach also includes Triple C’s and R&B singer Teedra Moses, the aforementioned trio is who is believed to be joining Ross on the album art, pictured to the right.
Ross’ first group, Triple C’s (Carol City Cartel) released the label’s first non-Rick Ross project in 2009′s Custom Cars & Cycles through Def Jam Records. There is no word at present if Torch, Gunplay and Young Breed will be featured onSelf Made.
