Robert Van Winkle aka Vanilla Ice is set to star in a new 10-episode
home-improvement series called The Vanilla Ice Project.
“Over the last 15 years, Rob has taught himself the basics of home improvement through hands-on experience,” representatives for the DIY Network said in a statement Tuesday. “In each episode, Rob demonstrates his vast knowledge in home renovation … . He calls the shots in this room-by-room home makeover series, exposing an entirely new side of the star — one that his fans never have seen before.”
Ice was the 1st “big” white rapper, and in the 1990s he had a hit called “Ice, Ice, Baby”
after his career flopped he was featured on VH1’s The Surreal Life
The Vanilla Ice Project will debut Oct. 14 on the DIY Network.
For what ever reason, no one including myself can figure it out,
but I LOVE watching home improvement shows… I love seeing houses flipped,
I love seeing houses after they have been gutted and renovated…
yeah i’m not gonna lie, i’ll probably be watching this….Don’t judge me LOL.

According to TMZ Vanilla Ice is committed to attending Gary Coleman‘s upcoming memorial service Turns out Vanilla and Gary hit it off when Coleman guest starred on an episode of “The Surreal Life” back in 2004 … despite the fact that they got into an epic war on the show because Gary wouldn’t say, “Whatchoo talkin’ ’bout, Willis?”
Vanilla ice told tmz”I’ll always remember the time he and I had.
He was fun to be around for the most part. Just a good, funny guy.”
He adds, “It’s almost a Catch-22.
He’s had such a bad luck life … I hope he’s in a better place.”
